At first, I though Reddit was a pretty cool site. Post a website and show it to the world; more for sharing and not necessarily to be harassed by a bunch of assholes that have nothing good to say about anything.
Like all websites, it’s all about the content that’s on the page and not necessarily where the content comes from. We live in an information age where we as humans can reach a large audience virally, hence spreading that information to the masses.
As well as the information age, we’ve also become a very crude judgmental society where people think it’s funny to see someone hit by a car, get punched in the face, snort Wasabi, or set fire to their friends.
Is this the beginning of the end….Yes!
To Reddit? Probably not.
Maybe it’s audience will mature from the 12-14 year olds to people in their twenties, thirties and beyond? Who Knows?
Maybe people will start reading and start educating themselves? Probably not!
The site really isn’t that bad, but the redditor quality has sure taken a plunge. We’re going to have to work together to resolve this issue…….just like world peace
